It's not a Dynmap bug, it's a WorldPainter bug. There are clear lines in Fangorn in-game where no trees have been spawned.
It's an issue I've contacted the WorldPainter dev about.

Can't get on MC right now due to terrible internet, but when I can I'll try to find the areas where it's noticeable. Often from above the trees it's less so since the individual canopies extend quite far.
I can tell you that it's an issue I've noticed when painting my own forests with smaller custom trees.

I'd gladly believe you, however with JourneyMap (Minimap) its not visible too
