Very nice, looks much better. One issue: At the moment you use the white bricks for pillars and main wall. Use two distinct materials for the pillars and the wall filling.

Thanks a lot for all the updates! A lot has been improved since I first looked at your build! Now please don't get me wrong, but I would like to see whether you can do these things which you have learned from this build, such as choosing good materials and detailing a building, on a new build. This is really just to make sure that you will not be overwhelmed when you get promoted. I just recently promoted someone to Artist which might not have been just ready yet, and he has been struggling quite a bit with doing the things the Designers needed.

So it really is for your own good, if you practise just a little more, and try to show me that you are ready to get an Artist!

A last overall feedback for your tower: The overall proportions are a bit off; the tower is very thick, and only gets thinner very slowly towards the top. That makes it look quite "fat" and not very elegant. Take yourself a minute and google for some pictures of towers and study what shape they have, and where they get thinner!

Thank you a lot for the update! Your new TB is very impressive, so much to see!

I have talked a bit with some other Designers, and we are sure you'll make a very good Artist! For your own good I would like to compile another feedback list, for your Ethring build. There's still some things you should know and learn about, before I am sure that you can cope with what you will need to be able to do as an Artist, but also I want to point out some things that are very good already!
  • The wheat fields and all the decoration on that river side look fantastic! The only small critique is, that you should not make the fields too small. A field needs a certain size, so that you can get a large enough quantity of wheat to make something useful with it.
  • Bridge: The main feedback for the bridge is also the point that applies to all buildings: Material choice. Choosing the right materials is very difficult sometimes. Just because all these blocks are in the pack, it doesnt mean one should use them all at once! Past builds have shown that it works best if you choose 2 - 3 different base materials for your build (the entire, not just one house). This number is without the material for the roof, and without variants of the same block. (For example small sandstone bricks and large sandstone bricks would count as one). What also does not count is all the detail stuff.
Furthermore, and you see that very well in the bridge, it often is no good idea to use textures with the same "shapes", but different colors. For example in your bridge you used large sandstone bricks, large white bricks and large light gray bricks. They are all the same texture, just in different colors. Usually it looks a lot better if you combine textures with different patterns, for example bricks with cobblestone.
Visit some of the many villages in Gondor and see what materials were used there!
  • Don't make your houses too small! I know, the size of the plot automatically makes someone build everything a bit smaller, but really make your houses big enough! If they are too narrow, it's gonna get really hard to make a nice interior!
  • Your city layout is great! One can really see that you're planning your build very well, or at least can very well imagine what you want to build!
  • The wooden wall is a bit strange, on one hand it is really squeezed between the buildings. Also make sure you don't build it all just with logs only, use some wooden planks as well! Check out the walls of Edoras and Aldburg!
  • The shapes you use to make the outsides of your houses look nice are very well chosen! With some more carefully selected materials it would look fantastic!
  • To cover the roof shingles from the inside, rather use wood stairs than only full blocks.
  • Flowerbeds: I would not use grass there, usually you just have dirt in there. Also make sure that you put a wood slab or so below the flower pots, so that you can't see the dirt from below.
  • Always cover the roof shingles from the inside, not just sometimes ;) If you don't have enough space, put the roof one block higher.
Really impressive build you made, I can clearly see that you have put a lot of work into it, and I really want to honor that! For your own good however I would like to suggest that you give one more build a try, and especially try to think a bit more about how you choose your materials! Don't forget to check out some of the other villages on the map and try to understand how the materials have been chosen there. If you want to take part in the Lake-Town TB: Check out some Rohan villages! Just don't even think about giving up! You have already learnt a lot, and you're on a very good way to be ready to get Artist!

Please forgive me my late response! Thank you a lot for the update!
I think there's still a few tweaks you can learn in terms of how to make a nice-looking interior, but your work on the outside of the laketown house convinces me that you're ready to step up the rank ladder!

Or in other words: Congratulations on Artist!

Please check out the Artist manual before you get to work! Artist Manual

You are forgiven, everybody can do breaks or take vacations.

and thank you.

Or like we say in France : merci beaucoup.
