Hey guys, I'm curious, and it may be helpful to me in the future to know this.

When you apply for staff, if you speak on ts, does your chance get substantially higher of getting the promotion?

Yes, since there are two questions concerning asking and talking on TeamSpeak in the Staff Application Format.

If you're applying for Bounder specifically, yes a lot. If your applying for Foreman, not necessarily. If your applying for Artisan, doesn't matter at all.

Speaking won't necessarily change your chances, and from what i know you have a very positive and friendly attitude, so just update the build albums you linked in your application whenever you make something you feel is significant. I'd also encourage including a lot of original ideas from your works on freebuild instead of simply tasks done as an artist. Original ideas and designs are a lot more valuable than simply showing proficiency in current styles imo.

Teamspeak isn't a way of forcing you to talk on mcme. It's a way to get to know you better. I'd say that if you aim to become staff, you need to be known amongst staff members and be able to function within that team. If you can manage that without teamspeak, that's fine but I wouldn't know how you would be able to catch news/conversations and get to know the team better.
I highly recommend you get it, since if you would want to work with me on something, I will always use teamspeak for it. Always. You don't need to talk though. Take alekspaleks, on of the oldest serving staff members and he was always on teamspeak and never talked for about 2 to 3 years. He was a steward in the end.

Yeah, I have ts and all, just haven't been quite sure about speaking to people, (you could say I'm shy, or antisocial ;)) but I think I will start speaking actively on ts.

If you guys have any other tips, then I'd be glad to here them.

You don't need to talk. Use chat. You don't need to talk. How many times... You don't need to talk. Didn't I just give you an example of a staff member not talking for 3 years? Freshy doesn't talk. Finrod doesn't talk. Many people don't talk.
You can chat in teamspeak so you don't need to speak/mumble/grunt/scream/talk.
Things you miss without teamspeak:
- job instructions
- tours
- answers to questions
- chance to play other games
- friends
- music streams by iru or me or others
- audiobooks
- award speeches
- queen singalongs
Did I mention that you don't need to talk?

I used to be shy and kind of avoided talking as well, so I know where you're coming from.
It's weird at first because you don't really know anyone by how they talk, it really just takes some getting used to I guess.
Start talking a little, even if it's just a job channel and as time progresses you open up more.
