Why would you like to be a Guide? I'd like to be Guide because I like helping out new players and drawing them into the community. I enjoy learning about Tolkien Lore and especially Server Lore, so being able to spread this knowledge in tours has been great fun. Being a Guide would allow me to have the opportunity to reach out and have the ability to run bigger events and focus more on non-building related aspects of the server which I've been interested in doing for a long while.
What makes a great Guide according to you? A great Guide to me is a friendly and helpful guide that a new player can go to for help and receive it at any time they are online. They would also be strong-suited in both Tolkien and Server Lore and have the ability to plan and run events. Another trait of a great Guide in my eyes is one who is able to get along with people.
What are your strengths and weaknesses in relation to the Guide role? My greatest strengths in my opinion would be activity and my knowledge in lore, having done lots of research on both Tolkien Lore and Server Lore and working on a lengthy server lore document. My greatest weakness would be that school might impact my activity levels (reason why I resigned from Artist) and I don't know if I would be able to effectively handle both school and MCME.
What experience have you had on MCME? I've been on MCME for 2-3 years now and in that time, I've been a Commoner and an Artist, contributing to the server and helping build it. During my time as a Commoner, I found a love for helping new players get immersed into the server and as an Artist, I not only did building things but ran smaller events (minigames and tours) and helped new players out whenever I was on/available.
