Minecraft Middle Earth is a Minecraft community that recreates the world described by JRR Tolkien and his writings. Everyone can participate in organized events in which we collaborate to create major landmarks, terrain, caves, castles, towns, farms and more.

what use would this be?This is more of a small suggestion. So the idea is that when you hover over someone's rank in chat, and it says "roles of <player>" it would that on top of explaning their ranks, it would also list what sub-teams they're on, like video team, or texture team. This could be for any member of those teams, or instead just for the leaders of that team, like Toti, and Mershy having the Texture team role. This is just a thought, I think it would be pretty neat to be added for anyone that cares about those things.
For seeing who is a part of which teams, pretty simple. It's so that people could see someone, and think "what does that person do here?" And then they can see what they do here, beyond just their ranks.what use would this be?
That's just what I decided to call stuff like the media team or the textures team, that aren't like the building team. I guess I'm wording this wierd, and I probably should have just called them teams, but I meant like how in terms of ranks there's the building ranks, and the... Not building ranks, like Guide. Yeah, on second thought I probably should've just called them teams, no need for the word sub. What even is a sub-team?
So for the current badges, we have displayed, there are actual applications on the server. People could theoretically directly ask for the help of someone with one of the badges which are shown in-game. if you need help with world edit, you hover over someone's name to see if they have the world edit badge. If you are hoping to have a tour or minigame, you hover over someone's name to see if they have the badge. The sub-team stuff doesn't make sense to be shown. It doesn't help others out, who do not have the badges. It has no direct application to be used or to help others on the server. You can't go like "hm, I wish we had a screenshot taken, let's ask someone to make a screenshot in cinematic.", or "I need a texture to be made... you there with the texture team thing shown, make me a texture at this instance and implement it because I need it now."For seeing who is a part of which teams, pretty simple. Basically, what you're suggesting is unnecessary. It's also unnecessary work to implement.
It has no real application on the server for which it needs to be shown to others.
It would also add a lot of sets of new permissions which can get messy and is not advisable even.
There is no need to have separate ranks or roles or titles for the different leaders of those teams in-game either, depending on the person leading the teams, they have already a manager or a designer specifically appointed to manage or lead those teams. In the case of media, and video team, they are additionally overseen by Toti.
To continue on what green said, there is already a special area in plotworld for people who are developers and who texture to work on, it shows all the available blocks there are for us to use for textures. However, this world is massive since there are a lot of blockstates; It would make texturing a chore to go back and forth between the different states to check your textures. Also why it is preferable for one to texture in their own space to only focus on the blocks they are working with. It keeps it nice, small compact, and focused on only what you're working with. Additionally, the stream server is not necessarily needed for video team things all the time, and people who are not on the video team or media team have to be on the cinematic server from time to time as well. For example, I needed to be on the cinematic server a few times to implement animations for media team purposes. I got quickly whitelisted and could go to work at my own pace. I am not part of the Media team myself, rather I am part of the Animations team, there sometimes is a need for me to be on the cinematics server but not as much, and definitely not enough to justify adding a special role or title with added permissions. It's easier to whitelist people from time to time if they actually have a need to be on the cinematic server, and it's easier to remove whitelist from people too if they need it removed as well.

Again, when greencaver defends your idea that usually means you should probably just delete the whole thread about it.I love how whenever I post something on the forums I don't actually have to actively reply to anything, or defend my idea, because greencaver will do it for me
The general population of adventurers joining the server does not care about things like texturing, in fact they stay on the server at most for an hour. You have some good points! Unless these team roles had actual permissions in game, which would be hard since most of the work for them is done outside of the game, they wouldn't actually have a tangible use in the server. That being said, I feel like it would still be cool, because even though a random droog couldn't say "I want a new texture pack now!", they would still be able to identify a texturer and ask any questions about the texturing team, texturing for the server, or just texturing in general and people who don't do texturing may not be able to answer certain questions.
Also, I'm confused about the plotworld thing, is it a place you can build in for texturing or does it only show the blocks you can use, because it would be cool to have a communal texturing area and you can see who is also doing texturing at the same time as you and you can collaborate. It could get kind of messy but i don't think it would be that big of a problem.

If they have any questions asked; it's easier for them to get forwarded to the team leads whom are generally known on the server, and if anyone who is known with the server is online, can answer that question. Even texturers who are online can answer that question, however, texturers can be extremely busy texturing and thus not reply to those questions.
The plotworld thing only shows the blocks you can use, or are available for retexturing, however this planning is reserved to the head texturer.
Furthermore, people are working on individual textures on their own texturing program, there would be no in-game collaboration since all texturers test with their own versions of the pack. It would add another unnecessary barrier to the process, which would be, as you mentioned, be messy. There is a texturer rank on discord that gives people access to communicate together about textures and get feedback, plus people would stream their textures live so people can see what they do. Texturing is one of those things which yet again is down outside of the server primarily and then tested in-game by the creator of said texture. The communal aspect of texturing is on discord, not the server. Texturers are in a different program for hours to make their textures, it would make it extremely inconvenient to socialise or be active on the server to chat or discuss things with people. Voice chat makes this a lot easier, as i have mentioned, the facilities and perks of texturers are on discord, not on the server itself.
