Minecraft Middle Earth 5th Anniversary
Tomorrow marks the 5th Anniversary of MCME having first been conceptualised on the 10th October 2010. It was on this day two men came together to collaborate on an idea on creating the Tolkien’s world of Middle-Earth on Minecraft.
Little did anyone know that the idea would pioneer the creation of one of Minecraft’s largest projects and communities we have ever seen. Block-by-Block, Job-by-Job, all amounted to the countless hours and endearing effort that players had poured into each project; Bree, Rivendell, Osgiliath, Minas Tirith and Moria.
But behind the building we saw a collective of individuals of the project construct a community that set the foundation on what we see today on MCME based on the ideals of passion, perseverance and prosperity. A personal advocation to some would turn out as a lifestyle to many. Whether you were a promiscuous wookie, a posh pig, a temperamental turtle or a slayer in the shade, MCME opened doors to all walks of life across the globe with welcoming arms.
It is on this day we come together to commemorate this outstanding milestone as a result of 5 years of hard work and to celebrate our community spirit we decided that the best way is to let you guys kill each other in the
release of the PvP server
We also have a little Ceremony in Frogmorton just before where we’ll say a few words of thanks, make some bad jokes before opening up the gates of the Minas Tirith - Team Slayer. (We recommend wearing your first Minecraft skin for added nostalgia!)
Later in the day there will also be some small nostalgic jobs too.
