Yeah I know theres a music thread, but I figure id make one just for metal (considering it is a very diverse and expansive genre) so yeah, feel free to post anything metal here! Hopefully we can all discover some epic bands and songs that we may have never heard through this :)
Ill start this off with probably my favorite song by Canadian legends, Protest the Hero.

Awww yissss . . . a thread for my type of music!
I prefer softer metal (Linkin Park, A7X, Evanescence, etc.) over the heavy stuff;
Linkin Park - One Step Closer

Avenged Sevenfold - Welcome to the Family

Evanescence - Going Under

I'm not overly sure this thread should be a thing. As long as you good people don't spam, it should be fine.

Thrash:
Kvelertak - Blodtørst

Progressive:
Devin Townsend Project

Mastodon: (albums differ from extremely heavy to sludgy to radio friendly)

Red Fang: (good old american heavy)

Gojira: (French metal)

In short I listen to any type of metal as long as the beat is good and not repetitive.

Love that Insomnium song!!!
Thanks for all the great music so far guys.

Heres one of my favorite Bullet for my valentine songs.
Its got a thrashy heavy type of verse along with a really strong chorus, and a great solo!

Finally a metal thread. :D

I play le bass guitar so I like anything thats catchy and has a nice bass line ;)

My top ten fav bands.

1: Coheed & Cambria

2: Eluveitie

3: Iron Maiden

4: In Flames

5: Alter bridge

6: Avenged Sevenfold

7: Trivium

8: System of a down

9: Ensiferum

10: Amon Amarth

Bonus band, Crossover metal.

Kontrust

Wont let me add more than 5 vids D:

What bands has everyone seen live too? I have a big list haha.

Sadly only metal bands ive seen live are Avenged sevenfold and Bullet for my valentine. That was from 3 years ago at Uproar fest (most bands there were hard rock)
But im going to Mayhem festival on friday to see A7X again as well as everybody else there, should be a load of fun :D

And hopefully I can see Periphery in October, though im not sure I can yet
hbu?

Apparently, I'm 'too young' according to my parents to see Linkin Park or Avenged Sevenfold live, so I'll have to wait :( . . . hopefully they're both still around in a couple of years.

Also, more A7X:
Heaviest song in my library:
Critical Acclaim

Nightmare

Burn It Down

Dangerline

@Dargona1018, you need to check out this thread!

That sucks buddy. How old are you? I went to upoar when I was 13 but my Uncle took me, if you can get an adult to go with you your parents should be fine.
And those songs are good, but nothing beats the more "underrated" songs

I'm 13. I think my parents (or to be more specific, my mum) are concerned about the swearing. They know LP do it, and they assume A7X do. It doesn't really make sense why she is concerned, I own some LP and A7X albums, most of which have a 'Parental Advisory' sticker on them, and they don't give a damn about it .

Ahhhh . . . I forgot about Metallica :P

Sidewinder is a fantastic song but nothing beats MIA man :)
For me their middle albums are all equally amazing. Their first album and most reecent are more meh.

And holy crap, you have a diverse taste in music my friend!

I agree, the first two tracks on Sounding the 7th trumpet are good, rest is eh. And Yea Hail to the king is pretty dull, I like Crimson day and Planets, but the rest is boring haha.

I love MIA aswell, they played at the show after the one I went to when i saw them the first time. Was so sad.

Really? For me Coming Home is definately the standout track (maybe its cause i play guitar lol) but it feels very Maiden-ish. Speaking of maiden, here is a ridiculously epic classic :)

Since many of the bands being posted here are known to a lot of people (Im guessing), I thought I post some less known bands, that I like.
Here is a melodic death metal band (Midgardian metal), from the area I live around

ahh, nothing says middle earth like Melodic Death Metal :)
Thanks for sharing, never listened to those guys before and im glad I did!!
I agree we should try to focus more on lesser known bands or at least underrated songs by bigger ones (im sure evryones heard sevenfold, maiden and metallica haha)

So anyway, heres my share. These guys have a similar sound to Veil of maya and Born of osiris but a bit less "djenty".
The song is actually written from the perspective of the famous super villain, Magneto which I thought was really cool.
Also some badass guitaring :)
