Other participants: RorchardMask

Lore:
Unfinished Tales - Part 4 - Chapter 2 - The Istari: Notes - Note 7 said:
Queen Berúthiel [...] was the nefarious, solitary, and loveless wife of Tarannon, twelfth King of Gondor [...], who... was the first childless king [...]. Berúthiel lived in the King's House in Osgiliath, hating the sounds and smells of the sea and the house that Tarannon built below Pelargir upon arches whose feet stood deep in the wide waters of Ethir Anduin; [...] and the gardens of the house in Osgiliath were filled with tormented sculptures beneath cypresses and yews [...]. King Tarannon had her set on a ship alone with her cats and set adrift on the sea before a north wind. The ship was last seen flying past Umbar under a sickle moon [...].

3) Build the great dome.
4) Build the great court.
5) Build the short but high corridor.
6) Build the other parts of the palace around the great dome.
7) Build the bridge.
8) Build the beacon tower.
9) Build the docks and road.
10) Furnish the house.

Well if im not mistaken we already built the house, i think its the big one right next to the palace/near the Theater, atleast acording to the planning map of Pelargir.

Why was it placed in Pela in the first place?
The source Tolkien gave on the House was misinterpreted by some wikis, they state that its IN Pelargir

Queen Berúthiel... was the nefarious, solitary, and loveless wife of Tarannon, twelfth King of Gondor..., who... was the first childless king.... Berúthiel lived in the King's House in Osgiliath, hating the sounds and smells of the sea and the house that Tarannon built below Pelargir 'upon arches whose feet stood deep in the wide waters of Ethir Anduin';... and the gardens of the house in Osgiliath were filled with tormented sculptures beneath cypresses and yews... King Tarannon had her set on a ship alone with her cats and set adrift on the sea before a north wind. The ship was last seen flying past Umbar under a sickle moon....

@Bombur8 thats actually a point I wanted to ask you about: Is that location inside Ethir Anduin? And does your concept include "built [...] upon arches whose feet stood deep in the wide waters"

Yeah, seems to me like it would be pretty close to the city walls, from the description you gave. (With the city's new design though, would that even work?)

About the Ethir Anduin, the problem is that I find the quote contradictory: Tolkien says the house was in Ethir Anduin and also that it was below Pelargir. Of course even 10000000000000000000000000000000 trillions km after Pelargir is still "below", but if it's so far away, why mention Pelargir? Another problem is the scale of the server, which makes hard to say where is the actual start of Ethir Anduin because the Anduin actually ends quite close to Pelargir (well, it's far in minecraft terms, but in real world terms, it's almost the neighboring street).
So, because I found the location very nice, I proposed this plan, but I confess that it still bother me. I can easily move it to another location without changing the concept very much, but the problem would then be the arches that are included in the current project but would hardly fit anywhere else.

Yeah, seems to me like it would be pretty close to the city walls, from the description you gave. (With the city's new design though, would that even work?)
Pelargir isn't actually much closer than the first Ethir Anduin island. And I don't see where's the problem with the design.

EDIT: I'm stupid, I didn't think I could simply rotate it... Well, in this case, there's no more problem, I'm going to make another map.

Maybe the article on Ethir Anduin can bring some clarity in the situation: http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Ethir_Anduin

I think, the Pelargir reference is not that important; as it seems Ethir Anduin formed merely a fiefdom (like Lebennin) with its own kind of people living there, and that house of Tarannon may have been kind of the capital of that area.

My vote would be this spot here:

And as its called to stand in the water, I would make about half of the complex off-shore. Also as Tarannon was called the ship-king I would highly recommend making a small port to the house, and maybe even make no bridge to it at all.

I already have plan for a little port ;) . But half water-building seems a bit too much for me...

This is my last plan. I absolutely didn't care about your ideas because I made it yesterday, but I still like it :) .

Also, concept for the diagonal aqueduct-like bridge:

yes, ignore the staff member's ideas that they want to help you with. That's always a good idea

More concepts!

Larger throne, because i figured that with this new plan, the throne hall will have a pair width:

First post updated, with a new, more audacious location, without earth access, closer to the sea and with deeper water :) .
hating the sounds and smells of the seaand the house that Tarannon built below Pelargir upon arches whose feet stood deep in the wide waters of Ethir Anduin

I don't know why but the throne picture doesn't display properly in the first post... Well, it's the last one I posted :) .

EDIT: Well, re-edited first post because I totally messed my last edit. The throne displays properly now, and other things too :P .
