I am just checking out your Cottage of Lost Play TB, and it looks really stunning! The exterior is especially awesome and one can really see how much time and dedication you have put into it! You seem to have really gotten the hang out of the resource pack as well and you use a large variety of blocks from it and you also bring in things like the custom heads or paintings that many don't know of, or that the cocoa plant depicts a lantern!

I've closely looked at your build and found some detailed things that you should be aware of; first I thought it's only very few things and that you're ready for the rank, but by now I've found quite some things that you should be watching out for as an Artist in any build, and I'd like to give you a week more time to think about and understand those:
  • The floor on the ground level, as well as the walls and floor in cellars are almost always out of a stony material. That's because the ground is usually moist from the groundwater and wood would rot away fairly quickly.
  • Don't use full planks blocks for tables, better use stairs or piston heads. The latter you can get by typing /get misc.
  • A recurring thing to watch out for is occuring in many places of your build: Which materials to stack ontop of which. Generally no material should support another material, that's heavier. This concerns combinations such as stone ontop of wood, stone ontop of dirt or gravel, logs, stone and wood ontop of grass blocks: Imgur: The magic of the Internet, Imgur: The magic of the Internet, Imgur: The magic of the Internet
Stone fences ontop of leaves can be discussed, I could agree with that its just an overgrown stone fence, but then it may be better to put the leaves ontop of the fences, not presume the fence goes through the leaves.
  • Then, do not make arches using log beams, log beams should pretty much always be straight and without gap within them to keep their structural stability: Imgur: The magic of the Internet.
  • Your crop fields are beautifully colorful, but for practical reasons I would strongly advise to make your fields in a more orderly fashion and group each type of crop together rather than spreading and mixing them together: Imgur: The magic of the Internet
  • Floating is a no-no Imgur: The magic of the Internet
  • This roof-extension seems overly bulky and massive to me. Try something with fences as support and plank slabs for a slightly slanted or even flat roof: Imgur: The magic of the Internet
  • You could argue that this is a painting of a flower, but I would recommend fetching a flower pot and putting your flower into it, looks a lot better! (All saplings and flowers should go into a flower pot)
  • Don't put furniture in places where it's clearly too tight and uncomfortable to use them. Detailed interiors are better than empty rooms, but it can also be too crowded Imgur: The magic of the Internet
  • I think in the middle part of the building you forgot the upside down stairs at the roof: Imgur: The magic of the Internet
Many of those things are things that you'll encounter in many builds as an Artist. I would recommend you fix those in your build and really think about them for a second to understand why these are important details! You're very close now, keep going!

Thank you so much Finrod for your advice and your opportunity!!
I will change these things very soon following your advice.I hope that i am very close now to become an Artist ,i worked very hard to create this theme build and i am very happy for it.

Not sure if artists should give feedback on these apps, but here's mine.
  1. Firstly I think your building skills are (almost) enough for artist and imo it seems like you're a confident builder.
  2. Having looked at most of your themed builds, I can suggest you to thing more about the blocks and materials that you are placing down. I'm mostly referring to the stone walls on wooden fences and on bushes. Also different, contrasting leaves on one tree; it's one tree type, which (generally) have one colour or leaves. So a bit more realistic micro-detailing.
  3. Most importantly I think, is your lack of English language. Having lead a few jobs for the tree build, I noticed that there was an issue with you being able to follow instructions, which is a pity. Following instructions is an important aspect of being artist. If you could somehow practice a bit more with your English skills, I'm certain that you would be able to follow instructions better, meaning that your buildings would improve as well. My English skills have much improved since I joined MCME and I believe my strategy was just to translate the stuff I wanted to say in my own language to English with Google Translate, instead of writing poor words. So I guess I could recommend to have Google Translate open while playing on MCME to improve your English skills.
  4. You have the old Moria pack, which makes the glazed terracotta and concrete look weird. If you don't know how to update it; search for %appdata%, click on Roaming>.minecraft>server-resource-packs and delete all files in the folder. Then restart minecraft and let it download all packs again.
So summarized: think longer before you place blocks; try to improve your English (and get the new Moria pack).

A new theme build:
Bilbo's 111th birthday party

Hey Fraspace, thanks for your update!

Hard to believe that all these screenshots are taken in just one plot. This is a big party indeed with a lot of details. Those tables in the 4th picture are looking very empy though.
But my main issue with your plot is the garden vegetation.
First the trees are quite poor quality imo. The canopies are compact bulks of leaves. Try to make some branches and most leaves at the tips of theses branches. Then only loosly connect those leaves. Also don't forget that trees have most of their leaves at those places where most light ist. Thus there are very few leaves at the downside and inside of the foliage. You should be able to climb or fly inside the foliage.
Second the garden around the tents seems quite emtpy and a bit unrealistic me. I know it's hard to make it look interesting, but these random gravel, sand and dirt blocks don't make sense. Same for the random flowers. Imagine The Shire and the place in front of bagend prepared for the great birthday party. When I do that, I see the lawn well maintained and new-mown for the party. Also I see great flowerbeds and hedges well-kept by Sam.

Hello Fraspace,
@Eriol_Eandur , @Darki and I have went over your artist application today. After seeing all the effort you have put in and the improvements you have made I would like to congratulate you to the purple legion!

We have closely looked at your lastest theme-build and found many good aspects. Two examples are:
  • Your trees have improved significantly, still not to an experienced level but a huge improvement.
  • We liked some of your ideas and detailing in the tents structure.
There is still much to improve on your theme build but we believe you are at a point where you will learn the rest of the tricks through being an Artist. Make sure to go through the training courses made so far if not already done so.
Make sure to think and plan realistic aspects for your builds as well. We are sorry to have you made you wait so long from Fin's original date of promotion (one week from his post on your application).
Congratulations again and I will promote you (or Fin) when we are on the server at the same time.

-BWOT

Congratulations and welcome to the Purple Legion Fraspace.
Feel free to pick up your new colours at /warp artist base in freebuild and if you'd like you may also add your name to one of the pillars in the Hall of Artists.
