Google Doc that is being updated periodically by hand. It shows a detailed descriptions of purchases, investments, received donations, and expenses.
Running Minecraft Middle Earth has a few fixed costs:
Server hosting costs
We are renting capacity at a datacenter to run the Minecraft server and hosting the websites, which require a high-speed and reliable internet connection and hardware.
Software licenses
The forum software license that needs periodic renewal is Xenforo.
Addons
Some addons that we use are paid-for. Addons are usually a one time (larger) purchase, followed by extensions for updates and support.
Examples are:
Are expenses that are rather exceptional in nature. Though rare, it happens that I sometimes have to ask a technician or another expert to intervene, and this falls outside the scope of the renting agreement.
As Minecraft Middle Earth does not generate revenue through ads or selling merchandise, the entire cost of running this community is split between q220 and the monthly donors.
The average cost is around 265 USD a month.
As a token of appreciation, we grant some gimmicks on our website and in-game to people who help out by donating.
